Many ask if the photos were taken at Ohio parks of the past: Idora Park, Myers Lake, Chippewa Lake Park. Regardless...The rides are shared memories for all of us who had the pleasure of laughing, screaming, and yes- maybe getting a little queasy. click on each image for a closer look and smile!
The majority of the photos were taken over several years at Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. It became a ritual heading to this "NorthCoast" town east of Cleveland the week before Memorial Day. The park was sparkling awaiting the crowds soon to be present throughout the summer. Sadly, the park is now history with the exception of the ferris wheel.
What wonderful memories of a simpler time.

I found out after taking the "Dry Dock" photo that Tybee Island Georgia had an amusement park many years ago. A temporary amusement park graced Tybee's landscape again for a short while in the summer of 2009. It was created for scenes in a Miley Cyrus film. For a few locals it triggered thoughts of simpler, happier times....
"Ask Grandma", a fortune teller game, was discovered in the back of a souvenir shop on Tybee. This image along with a fortune teller game found in the back of a Geneva-on-the-Lake theater features some prophetic thoughts... of course both are for amusement only :) ...
The boats seen below were from the Geneva park- one common feature with all boats- the clangy bell! Do you remember?
